Two years ago today, Bethel Park’s Spoonwood Brewing poured its very first beer to the public and has since cemented itself as a major player in the Pittsburgh craft beer scene. You can find their beers flowing from taps throughout the region and their taproom and restaurant experience has gained an incredible reputation. I’ve worked closely with the great people at Spoonwood through Breaking Brews and PCBN from the early going and it’s been an absolute pleasure to play a small role in their success. I look forward to many more years of growth, prosperity, and tremendous beer and cuisine from the team at Spoonwood and, if you haven’t made the trek to Bethel Park to see what they’re all about, it’s high time you make it happen.
To celebrate two years of excellence, Spoonwood a variety of events scheduled this entire week. Check out the schedule below. It all kicks off this evening with Happy Hour from 4:00-6:30pm, The Good Guys playing LIVE from 7:00-9:00pm, ALL pizzas on the menu only $8, and the tapping of two beers: Barrel-Aged 2 Minutes to Midnight, a special collaboration Spoonwood did with Caliente Pizza & Draft House in December 2015. This Imperial Stout brewed with chocolate and vanilla has been resting in a Wigle Whiskey barrel for 12 months. Also, Dragon Chaser Imperial IPA makes its triumphant return to the lineup!
