Admit it: It really doesn’t get much more fun than drinking a few beers and getting lost in the world of video games. Whether you’re 21, 31, 41, or anywhere in between, waxing nostalgic with Nintendo and Sega Genesis classics or conquering the epic plots of today’s modern games taps pleasure in each and every one of us.
And when you add beer to the equation? Well…game on, kids!
As Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week draws closer, our friends at Rock Bottom and Apis Mead & Winery are bringing us a night with games, beers, music, more beers, more games, and all the fun you can handle. On Wednesday, April 26th, it’s a Beer Fest and Video Game Tournament at Sing Sing (connected to Rock Bottom) in the Waterfront starting at 6:00pm!
Snagging a ticket to this event earns you an evening of unlimited beer samples from several Pittsburgh breweries, live entertainment, and, last but not least, video games! Sing Sing will have two projection screens set up complete with two classic games: Mortal Kombat 2 and Super Mario Kart. Each game will have its own tournament bracket and all contestants will be throwing down 16-bit style with serious bragging rights and an amazing grand prize up for grabs. Both games are from the Super Nintendo game system via an emulation system.
To round out the evening, SIKES and the New Violence will take the stage!
